The multimedia theatrical spectacular "Era - Intersection of Time mixes traditional Chinese acrobatics, a 2,000-year-old art form, with high technology, using multimedia effects to enhance sound, create smells, and add wind, light, fog and even a spray of water to the show.
IT hit the stage recently in Shanghai may well change many Chinese people's idea about acrobatics. The show is a combination of the traditional acrobatics and modern technology, summarized as "internationally made with Chinese elements".
It has been produced via a 30 million yuan (US$3.7 million) investment by the China Arts & Entertainment Group, Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Circus World.
While there is no foreign investment, the main production team is from Canada.
And instead of being on the stage for a set period of time like most other Performances, the show will run daily on a continuous basis.
